Hello from V!

Hi there guys. My name is Virginia McKevitt and I have been a member of Stage 32 since April of 2012. I'm an independent published author who writes fantasy/science fiction with a much broader scope to include romance, mystery, action and adventure. I am currently in the process of taking my series, Fracture The Secret Enemy Saga, from book to a screen written version for movie or television. Stage 32 has opened up opportunities for so many people in the years I have been here. Thanks for joining. You may be next. Hello and welcome to the neighborhood!

Hi Joey. It's been a few months but the last movie I went to was Jarrasic World. What can I say, it was too predictable. The special effects were awesome. You can check out my thoughts here: Virginia McKevitt, Author posted in Film, TV & Theater Discussion Jurrasic World, Meh I went to see Jurrasic World today and left the theater with mixed feeling about the highly anticipated block buster. With director Colin Trevorrow at the wheel and executive producer Steven Spielberg at the helm, I anticipated a renewed magic in the franchise's history since the first film over a decade ago, but was some what let down. The production and set were a masterpiece and you would expect nothing less with production designer Ed Verreaux and set designer Masako Masuda (from the original film) on board, but the film seemed to fall back on the first production's story-line . There was a hint of romance, raptors in training, and a new owner but the plot ran so close along the lines of JP 1 that it made it easy to foresee what was happening before the next scene. The action was nonstop and the bits of humor were well done but I felt like I was jogging with an old friend instead of running for my life. Over all I enjoyed the film but was left with the feeling that I had been there before. I was anticipating an original and fresh, clean slate with JW and was let down. That being said, children will love this "park" as much as the others and as the numbers show, it was a huge success. Have you seen JW? What was your take on the franchise's new baby?
