Veronique Robert, Screenwriter

Happy Sunday morning to everyone! I have been writing screenplays since 2010. I have written 2 books before that and decided to adapt them to scripts and this is when I got the "bug". Afterwards, I liked it so much, I studied at Cinecour and Screenwriting U. so far I have completed 11 feature screenplays in different genre. I'm presently working on a Disaster/ Action script. I have posted Visual pitches and my Loglines on my page. Thanks, V

Howdy Véronique! I noticed your path of adapting books to screenplays. Perhaps you'd like to start a thread in the Screenwriting Lounge on your technique? And have you got any traction in competitions or analysis/coverage? I myself have taken the translation->screenplay->novelization approach...

Alex, I don't have a "method" to adapt novels. Having written my own, I knew the story inside and out, the characters, etc. I guess, to me what matters most is that the story stays true to the book. I hate watching a films adaptation of a story I read and it doesn't jive. I tried to do a good job, but being Vampire stories, they are hard to sell. I did lots of competitions at one point, got Quarter finalist for 3 of my stories, but they cost a lost when you have 10 to pitch, so mostly dropped that.

Thanks Phil, I'll have to take a look at what I have posted here... I'm sure I haven't taken the time to place them all. It would be nice!

Vincent, you will love ProSeries! They are wonderful. I wrote 2 screenplays during the series, mixing up everyone because they couldn't keep up lol I use the techniques all the time. Best of luck buddy!
