Screenwriting : Script Consultation by Mary Albanese

Script Consultation

I had a script consultation with one of their "secret" executives that Joey suggested for me. It was really great. I've had several requests to see this script, but no one has felt compelled enough to take it on once they read the full script. I wasn't sure who to get as a script consultant, but Joey had an idea who might be a good match for it, and I am glad I went with his suggestion. I got really useful feedback from the script consultation on how to beef it up, not the usual summary of my story I've had from other consultant companies (which I already know). This fellow really knows his stuff and I got lots of general pointers, too, on what they are looking for in terms of script presentation. These were thinks you don't read about in all the script-writing books and courses. Here's hoping that with the changes I've made based on his feedback, I can take it to the next level -- the big one.

Mary, thanks for sharing. I had my first encounter with Joey recently and you gotta love that guy! He is very much out there making the world a better place. I hope your experience leads to more hard work and grand success!

Thanks, Mary for sharing. I am currently waiting on feedback notes from a producer suggested by Joey. I'm attempting to be patient and move forward. I started mapping out a new project and have my 3X5 cards plastered on the wall. Much success to you Mary!

Mary, That's great for you that you got a consultation with a reputable person in the film business, and received some great insights on how to "beef it up." Take that as a good sign that you have the self-awareness to recognize that your writing could be brought up to the necessary level to potentially compete against the pro writers who pitch their scripts every day, too, and who hope to get a writing contract, option, shopping agreement or sale. Good luck, Mary.

Thanks for sharing such a great experience! I took the notes I received and I am applying it to some rewrites and upcoming projects. Onward and upward!

Joey strikes again! @Joey... You should take a picture in a superhero's outfit - like Superman with a cape and all - except it would have S32/HW across the chest. It would make a great profile pic - and Christmas card!

Huge congrats, Mary!

Emmanuel Ilemobayo

Congrats. Looking forward to feature in that project
