Author/columnist/writer/freelance journo/photographer/advocate

Hi all - greetings from Western Australia. I HOPE I am writing this in the correct section - I'm just trying to introduce myself. I am a wife, mum, published author, writer, columnist, freelance journo, photographer and a very strong, stubborn, determined and probably extremely painful advocate in several causes: the mighty outback of Australia, our Indigenous people and the fight against bullying. I am currently trying to finish writing a book about the outback. It has taken me about three-four years to reach this point - and I thought that that was/is a heck of a long time, which started worrying me a tad, but then I have also been reassured that, given the amount of research involved to write such a book - and then with the writing, interviewing, editing, publishing and all that goes with it - I am actually right on track. I was born in South Australia and spent my childhood on our family sheep station, in the north eastern pastoral district of that state. While I married a Western Australian and have been here for about thirty five years now, I remain absolutely passionate about the outback and the way of life out there. During one of my last research trips, the question was put to me: is a documentary being made to follow my research trips, to see how such research for a non-fiction book such as mine, is done. No, was and is the answer to that, but the seed had been planted in my brain and I am now looking at the possibility of making such a documentary once the book is released next year. Thank you and I look forward to further participation in Stage 32. Bestest Lannah
