Generally, I use Final Draft. If I have a paying CELTX client, I use those software suites although I don't much like them and I'd prefer FD. I mean, hell, I paid American money for FD and I'd rather use that hulking software bundle. Right now, I'm working for a producer in India and she wants me to write my first screenplay draft in Word. After some gentle wrangling, she's insisted on this and now I'm left scrambling for how to make this work. Can anyone recommend a decent Word screenwriting template? Something that will format for me? I'll need something by Monday as I need to get some pages to her by the end of the week. I have WORD 2008 for MAC if that helps anyone. Thanks. Cheers.

Try an export to .rtf from FD. It's easy to do with Fade In. Open the .rtf in Word and do a save-as to .doc or .docx. Maybe your client needs to upgrade her priorities and understanding about the modern tools of screenwriting...

Templates, macros and styles in Word are all very well, but have none of the utility and structuring tools of dedicated screenwriting application software. Besides, paying client or no, there's no good reason to use 20th Century tools for 21st Century writing. A postal customer can't reasonably insist on letters being carried by Pony Express, so...
