Sorry to hear about you're low pay-day. I'm looking for people who have made money from VOD, self-distributed filmmakers. I don't trust distributors AT ALL. Call me prejudiced but that's what I believe.Let's continue the dialogue here...
Seems like if its not a well known entity like Sony or HBO its a gamble.
Your response makes alot of sense but this should not be happening in our profession. I have cast and crew that are expecting a check from me as a producer and trust me, when I saw that deposit, going back to a 9-5 job making 29000 a year crossed my mind.
I signed a few distribution contracts here and there and the outcome so far is either having the distributor answer to my lawyers or some saying their will be payment delays. Just thought that distributors would do a way better job than me selling DVD copies by hand. Steve I get music for my productions from there, just never considered them. Robin- Caribbean Tales distribution also has my titles, so far so good.
