Getting Women Behind the Camera!

My name is Madelyn Ritrosky, and I am new to Stage 32. My mission is the tag line for my short film Stardust & Moonbeams currently in post-production: "Ladies! Grab the Camera ~ Change the View!" Several years ago, I decided to put my money where my mouth is (as a scholar and critic of historical and ongoing gender-media inequities): I co-wrote a women's fiction novel, Stardust & Moonbeams (forthcoming), and am the writer/producer of a 20-min short film adaptation. The short is all about getting women behind the camera (men in front!) -- that means our production team (me, director Terri Farley-Teruel, DP Nancy Schreiber, ASC, producer Kalynn Brower), the story (set in late 1920s), the visual structure, the whole message/project! See the attached still. I'm trying to write the feature adaptation, which has proved very difficult. Plus fundraising continues for post-production. Would love to connect with others who are passionate about women's equality, in filmmaking and more generally. Find out more and watch 2 trailers at www.StardustMoonbeams.com. Facebook.com/StardustMoonbeams. #starmoonfilm @starmoonfilm on the other social media. BTW, the youngest of the 6 actors in the short (you will see him in the trailers) is my 16-year-old son, Jared Winslow, who already has a solid film resume (including a lead role in a Civil War feature starting to play festivals) and is always looking for on-camera work.
