Composing : How to approach by Francesco Tresca

Hi to everyone, my name is Francesco Tresca, I am a musician and soundtracks composer/sound designer from Italy, but thanks to internet the distance is not a problem (I work with people all around the world). Here you can listen to some of my works www.francescotresca.com/soundtracks I'm writing here asking for suggestions and advice: what's your strategy for finding new projects, is it better connecting to directors and propose yourself directly to them? Or you think is is better to contact production companies? Do you think is it better to have just one complete show reel or showing you did many projects, even very different to each others?
