Hello all, I debated weather or not to get involved in this "Introduce yourself" session as I haven't really been able to make much progress but here it goes anyway. I'm an aspiring editor, I love the process of building a story from countess hours of rushes. I have been busy trying to secure work experience to help build skills, so far have only been able to get ad-hoc days. I continue to practice everyday and keep the dream alive. So to all those that are new to Stage32 and to current members, its great to meet you all.

Hi Tony - good to see you here again. Never debate putting yourself out there. Also, keep in mind to check out other people's posts. I constantly see people looking for editors, but they don't post into the jobs section. So keep your eyes open, the next opportunity might be lurking in the post below yours. :)
Hi Tomasz, great to hear from you. Thanks for the tip, will have to keep checking the posts to see if anything pops up. Hope your projects are going well.

For sure, I'll try to remember to keep an eye out if someone asks for UK editors, I normally just check my connections and see who I've met on here already. You've got bunch of videos which is great, so that people can take a look at your work. Keep it up, man.

The only way to become a better editor is to keep doing it. Keep at it!
Hello all, thanks for the support; Its always appreciated. Thanks again Tomasz I will deffo have to keep an eye out for opportunities. I'm a little unsure if the videos I have posted at the moment are giving the right impression. James I couldn't agree with you more, I recently signed up to a program called "inside the edit" which is part theory and the rest is practical. Thanks again everyone.

Hi Tony, Welcome, I am sure you will benefit from joining Stage 32. Both members and crew are a great help and always ready to offer assistance when needed.
Hey Colin and thanks. The hardest part is the gaining experience, Im sure some companies think that experienced staff just pop out of holes in the ground.

How very true. Employers only seem to want experienced workers, so how do you get experience. One way is to obtain a contract with a small company, which unfortunately means a smaller salary. By doing this a couple of times, you then have something to put on your CV, which in turn will help your chances of obtaining a higher position/salary with a larger company.
