Hello everyone. I am a screenwriter from sunny Scotland (it's not actually, it's absolutely pouring with rain as I type). I'm available for writing assignments, networking and helping others in anyway I can. My screenplays, which include shorts, a romantic drama and a romantic comedy have placed highly in competitions including PAGE international screenwriting contest, Screencraft comedy script competition and the Hollywood screenplay contest. I'm currently a semi-finalist in the stage 32 Happy Writers TV fellowship with my television pilot Mindwalkers, an action adventure series with strong female characters. I want to realize its potential and further develop Mindwalkers along with my other tv pilot idea called Frankie saves the World (A little bit at a time). Again it's an action series but with a fantasy element. I love most genre's of film and have a soft spot for comedy horror films. I absolutely adore them. For me it's escapism at its best. Ever since I was little I have sought to immerse myself in the media/entertainment industry. I love the immediate power and influence that television has as a means to draw emotions to the surface. When I was one year old I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. As such, media/entertainment became a way for me to embrace who I am as an individual. As I grew older I realized that I could turn my passion my fascination into a living goal. I have a strong desire to work in the entertainment industry upon graduation from Florida Atlantic University, and I believe that by being selected to be a part of your internship program will allow me to gain further experience and insight into the industry. Simultaneously, I believe that you will quickly recognize that my determination, passion, creative ability, communication skills, leadership skills and dedication will be able to benefit your organization as well. Hi Mary. Good luck and fingers crossed for your comedy horror. I'm outlined a couple of stories myself. Just need to choose which story to write . The majority of my protagonists are female. I love writing complex female characters who have bite, a lot like me ;) . Let me know how you get on.
