It's Open to Interpretation

A few days ago I was watching an interview with Lin – Manuel Miranda. For anyone in the entertainment or performing arts who doesn’t know who he is, have you been living under a rock in the last year or so? He is the creative force, writer, and star behind the ground-breaking musical, Hamilton, Broadway’s hottest and hardest-to-come-by ticket. Hamilton is a game-changer and has taken the musical theater by storm. Just like some of its predecessors My Fair Lady, Company, A Chorus Line, and Rent, Hamilton, according to an article in The New Yorker, is “an achievement of historical and cultural reimagining.” Taking that idea one step further, Miranda has said, “We’re telling the story… but we’re using actors of color, and that makes the story more immediate and more accessible to a contemporary audience.
