Anything Goes : Starting a Prodco. Seeking advice. by Rich Hynes

Hello all. I'm a writer who has been working away on story after story and script after script. Now, I'm currently batting around the idea of starting my own production company and shooting some stuff. Since I've been focused on the screenwriter path somewhat exclusively, I've never given much thought to the executive side of things such as producing/directing, legal entities, fundraising and whatnot. I was hoping that my fellow members here may be able to help me out with some advice from first or second hand experience on the business side of things. Anecdotes, heads ups, good articles and/or books. Do this, not that. Look here, not there. Something beyond what's readily available in the basic listicles that are currently floating about cyberspace. Thanks in advance and if I can reciprocate in any way I'll gladly do so.
