I see more requests of late for ULB (under 250k) feature length scripts. Think Breakfast Club- one or two locations, 4-5 characters, dialogue driven dramas. With that in mind, I am about 50% done with my take on a ULB gonzo heist script. "Can't be done" you say? Wait and see, true believers.

Dan M, why do you think making a 250K movie would take three years. You could shoot it and distribute it an a few months if that.
DanG 1 year to write and develop, 6 months to 1 year to shoot and edit deliverables, 1 year to sell and get a check. i don't have any official data but I attend the AFM most every year and everybody (low budget filmmakers) there is broke
I guess maybe low budget filmmakers move a lot slower than me. I am writing a screenplay write now that will take 30 days to write and will be ready to shoot in November.
most $250K movies don't advance careers. they hardly make any money. Aim higher. Write a better story. better actors. Invest in bigger talent in front and behind camera. A great example of a low budget film is Fruitvale Station. Took 2 years to make. Won Sundance in 2013. Now the same Director is working on $200million Comic book movie. Everybody in his camp from the beginning gets a career bump and salary increase.

Dan M. Thanks for clarifying. I thought that was the case but wasn't sure. I agree with that advice.
Dan, I am not a film maker. I am a screenwriter. And I see people asking for ULB scripts (250k range). That is the point of writing this script. With more on the way. I will work on what the market is hungry for, and what I am passionate about. Sometimes its the same thing. This is my 8th screenplay and the budgets ranges are from 250k up to 25 million, so thjat I can answer a call for scripts ASAP. : )
