Anything Goes : A little recognition goes a long way by Janice Garden Macdonald

My animated feature screenplay, The Sock Opera, has just won the 2016 Moondance Film Festival award. This is especially important to me, not because I expect to see it on the big screen anytime soon, but because it renews my faith in myself. If you've ever wondered if your skill or talent is worth a nickel, then you know what |I mean. I'm sharing this because I want to acknowledge the importance of Festivals and Competitions as a means to keep new writers engaged and enthusiastic in an industry where everyone has so much talent, it's frightening.
