Hey, y'all. First off, a big Thank you to RB and the rest of Stage 32 personnel. This has been one of the best sites that I've come across. The people on here are the best in motivation and in helping with any problem that comes along. A bit about myself. I am a published author with eleven books and currently almost finished with my twelfth. I am co-writing a true life story with the one and only, Abigail Rich. She is an international Playboy model and really good friend (who I met here on Stage 32). Her life story is one that you don;t want to pass up reading. There will also be a movie made of her life story in the near future. I've also written three feature films and one web series (based off my book series Assumptions). I am currently working with Tye Jackson on getting organized for the production of the web series (Assumptions), and this will be my first attempt at directing and producing. I look forward to meeting new people and love to collaborate, it's the only way to learn, and there is so much to learn about in this business, it's never ending. Please reach out to me if i can be of any help. I'm just a message away.

Hey, Izzibella! Would you mind if I asked - as a published author, what do you think about self-publishing? Would you recommend it for a first-time author? Cheers, ~K~

John Guinn

Hello Izzibella, if there is anything i can do to help let me know.

Izzibella Beau

@Karen E Ross, I would recommend self-publishing for a first-time author. As with any sector of the entertainment industry, it's a rough world. Make sure you are putting your best work out there, editing is the key. There will be many people who will criticize whatever you put out, like the filming industry, you have to have thick skin with all the trolls that love to critique. I was lucky enough to get signed by a small publishing company with my first book, but they have since closed, so I am now indie. I like being able to control the destiny of my books and decide what I want to do with them, (lower the price, combine a series together, my own covers) BUT it is time-consuming to keep up with promoting and trying to capture an audience. You have to remember you're competing with millions. Let me know if I can be of any help. @John Guinn, hope you are doing well. I will definitely reach out if I need assistance and you do the same.

There are also hybrid forms of publishing too where you pay for author services and do some of them yourself – you choose how much. There's a joint equity system with the publisher and more control, plus the route to market is faster: best of both worlds. You get a lot more of the profit than a royalty based system this way. I wrote about this here: http://sympathyftm.blogspot.co.uk/2014_02_01_archive.html

Thanks, David, I will definitely check out your blog and article. I'm always on the look out for more ways to get my work noticed.

Richard "RB" Botto

Truly appreciate the kind words, Izzibella! I'll certainly pass them on to the team as well. Your energy and collaborative spirit shine through! Thanks for the support and all the contributions to the network!

"Thank you, RB. If it wasn't for your site. I would still be sitting at square one of everything that I wanted to do. I've met so many connections here, and their words of motivation, experience, and wisdom have helped tremendously.

@ArayBrown. The same goes to you, your posts have influenced me a lot in reaching for what I wanted. I would love to work with you one day, your motivation and determination is going to set the industry on fire. The book will be released on August 31, 2016, as long as Amazon doesn't through a tantrum like they always seem to do with new releases.
