Introduce Yourself : Author and Animator Re-Introducing Self by Katherine Blakeney

Hello All! I've been a Stage32er for a couple of years now, but I've been away from the site for a while and I have some exciting projects to share, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to re-introduce myself. I am a stop motion animator and a nearly published author and I've just finished up my PhD in Film Studies at the University of Edinburgh (Scotland, UK). My thesis dealt with Silent Era adaptations of 19th and early 20th century Gothic novels with a special emphasis on psychological and aesthetic interpretations of the monster figure. I make independent and comissioned animated short films in my own small studio near Edinburgh. My films have screened at various international film festivals and have been nominated for awards. There are quite a few monsters in them too. My debut novel, Digging in the Stars, is a Young Adult Sci-Fi adventure forthcoming with Blaze Publishing March 28, 2017.
