Submitting to Netflix.

Hi all. Does anyone have any information and/or advice on submitting to Netflix or Amazon originals?

Alfonsina Sterling

Netflix only works through agents. You can submit your ideas (Scripts) to Amazon Studios, they accept few genres: kids, comedy, drama - movies and series. When you submit your idea if approved, they make it public so people can review or vote. Or then can just like it and get in touch to see how to move forward. Here you have pitch sections where producers from Netflix are always around hearing new ideas. I believe they are paid, never done it before but I know they are there.

My niece was fortunate enough to have Netflix place an order for a series. However, I have heard of people going through Distribber (where you pay an upfront fee) to get original content on to Amazon or Netflix. Has anyone had any experience with distribution companies?

My friend has a "canned" project, i.e., a pilot and season one of a series he created, produced, directed, edited and acts in. His other actors worked for free and he got them to sign releases. He said he can go through a distributor to get the show on Netflix, then viewers vote on it. I'm wondering if anyone has had success with this?
