I'm new to this forum and still learning my way around. I've been working in the arts in one capacity or another for fifteen years, now. For the past decade I have split my time between stage managing in the theatre and working as a writer's assistant/story coordinator in television, two jobs which are actually more closely related than you might think. I recently started my own business, hiring out my services as a freelance writer's assistant - something I have actually been doing in an informal capacity since 2007 - in an effort to take a little more control over my life. I love my work with a huge passion, but as I'm sure everyone here knows, the uncertainty of a life in the arts can be wearing. Starting the business has been a real help in that regard. I''m looking forward to exploring the forums and finding new friends who understand both the joy and the wear-and-tear of this crazy life. Katherine
