Hi Mark, I don't think it's necessarily wrong. I think you should invest in finding out what your type is as an actor and go after parts that cater to it. You're wasting your time if you go after roles that don't fit you at all. Now if you're only looking for a certain level of parts (like I'll only take this amount of pay) then you may be doing yourself a disservice, especially if you are new. Good luck and whatever you do, keep working on your craft and hustling!
Totally agree with Stephen. I have an acting teacher friend who has been enormously successful helping thesps figure out their strongest traits and qualities. This has helped them narrow down which auditions they should pursue and has led to many more jobs. Rejection is hard enough. Don't increase the pressure by auditioning for everything that comes along.
Thank you RB. I used to frustrate myself and my career by auditioning for EVERYTHING: theater, film, sitcoms, commercials until I was burned out. on the road. So much of it WRONG for me and MY unique talent.
and I've also learned it's OK (and legit) to go past the CD and right to the director on roles I'm great for! It's only taken me 20 million years to learn it.
no, I don't. I want the one who is controlling the project to see my work not the middlemen or women who might have a lot of friends they want to consider first.

nope, not at all. actors should not audition for "everything" be picky!
