Hi Joao, nice to meet you. I wish I knew more about cinematography, I do obsess over beautiful looking films. I'll watch anything Roger Deakins touches based on his involvement alone. Surely he's due his first Oscar this year. Adam

Hi Davin, there is no one way to get to cinematographer, it's such a wide-ranging role that starting as a trainee cameraman, AC or spark is a good place to start as you will learn the ropes and work with professionals that can help shape your knowledge. Also working on short films is a great way to experiment and see what works. Shane Hurlbut has a great online resource for cinematographers, "Shane's inner circle" check it out, it's worth it! cheers J
