My first feature "Farewell Darkness" online for free!

11 years ago this week we began filming Farewell Darkness in the snow and wind of a Chicago winter. We went on to finish the film for $36,000 and premiere it at the Gene Siskel Film Center. After a successful festival run, which took us at one point to Italy where we won Best First Feature, and Best Picture at the festival. We then received a domestic distribution deal that turned out to be a deal with the devil. After a threat of legal action they released the film back to us, and unfortunately the moment had passed and our film was done in the market. It was a tough lesson to learn, but I'm glad I learned it early and young. The film hasn't been available to the public for over 6 years. I recently was making a new demo reel and I watched the film again, and to my surprise most of it holds up. Sure, there are a million things I as a filmmaker at the time didn't know, and would most certainly do differently. But I'm proud of the effort we as a team put in to make this film happen. It was team effort from start to finish, and as a thank you to those people who sacrificed and donated their time, money, energy, talent, homes, food, vehicles, explosives... This is for you. So for the rest of the month "Farewell Darkness" and the making of documentary "Into The Light" will be available online for free to the public. CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW TO WATCH FAREWELL DARKNESS.
