I am watching a Spanish series “El Ministerio del Tiempo” ( The Ministry of Time) and the main male character had “creative differences” with the producer and left. I love the show but his “death” was pretty weak and the show lost the romantic tension he had with the female lead, which they never replaced. I am sure there are millions of viewers like me hissing their teeth “WTF was that?”
Would you create another character to put some romance back into the series? Or is it too expensive to rewrite a season?
Dunno about Spanish tv but American networks have plenty of money and everybody is replaceable. long list of tv stars dismissed: Suzanne Somers, Shelly Long, John Goodman, David Caruso, Charlie Sheen, Kevin Spacey.
Networks also fire tv creators & Showrunners. 2 recent firings: the creator of "Fuller House" on Netflix and the showrunner of "The Flash" tv series.
The show needs some romantic tension. The character just vanished; poof! That was a large part of the success of the first season. Incidentally the producers sued "Timeless" as a blatant copy of their series.

Just call Joe Pesci, he have a solution to any problem
Javi, The show created a new idea , used it masterfully, researched the background, and gathered such a loyal following. That is what I call idea to screen mastery. Kudos to the writers.
