Wrote/Shot/Delivered this in 48 hours - BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY, BEST SOUND, BEST EDITING awards

So we did a 48 hour film (13 hours shooting, 24 hours post) contest the other weekend, I hadn't done one in 10 years. We managed to pull some incredibly high production value out of 1 day of shooting! We are pretty happy with the film, it was also nominated for Best DIrector, Best Film, and Best Actor, but we are still stoked we took home 3x awards!

There will be a director's cut coming with a couple extra shots to help the ending NOT be so rushed, and a VFX shot or two to signify this girl's connection to "them".

Anyways, if you want to see what we pulled off please give it a watch! Would love any feedback!

The mood and look feels like like Walking Dead and Handmaid's Tale at the same time. Nice work.

Martina Cook

Hi Matthew! Great job! Only thing is, when I watch it on my phone there is a sort of glitch? Sound goes off sync and then back...images repeat...is it supposed to be like that? Is it part of the story? Good job on production value, really good! :)

Dan MaxXx

solid filmmaking, I'm not crazy about handheld shots but that's more taste than critique. Didn't understand the story or the world though. Sorta ends with a jump cut transition to night and the woman floats in the air.

Mike W. Rogers Thank you very much!!! That's a huge compliment!

Martina Cook No, that must be something on your end. :(

Dan MaxXx It's all good, handheld isn't for everyone like you said. :) We don't dive into the backstory much as its really all about her stepping up to the plate and being strong enough to accept her destiny. However, the rushed ending didn't really manage to convey her struggle. I don't always want everything wrapped up in a tidy package so we left a lot of the backstory vague. Unfortunately our ending didn't quite work out like we would've liked but we've done half a day of reshoots to really get the ending that much stronger before we go to festival. We shot, edited and did original music and VFX work in 48 hours, this contest really pushed us to see what we could do!
