Hi Raymond; artStation looks like a great resource ... I'm looking for a storyboard artist who has a sense of style and can follow direction such as colour palette, mood, action, etc and also capable of translating solid visuals into animation. Up to now i have been looking for visual artists on Instagram etc who would be capable of the storyboarding prior to digitization. i have no time for storyboarding, its terrible, i prefer stick figures but I'm trying something more complex.

Don't sleep on Zerply either – Nimble is partnering with them to integrate their services into their own platform.

Theresa, the problem with storyboarding is that it can be too coplex. And thus timeconsuming That can cost way more then stick figures :) I'm trying to find the middleway through vector. It can be very complex,but it is adaptable. I make books like that - https://www.behance.net/muffles

my background is visual art. I am more comfortable with the middleman that speaks my visual language. it really depends on the final product and the best way to get there. My budget constraints would never affect the "look' and 'feel' of the story i am telling.

True, but the books I am working on aren't done over night for sure :) I am just saying it can be used like that. I am busy with a new book and it is taking me forever. Of course I can do it by hand, but I love vectors. I usee it wthout any blue print, so I let my imagination fill in the dots during drawig I used to do that with pixels too. Dot by dot and see what happens. I have no wacom or anything. Most people on Artstation do. I love their art though.

I am not averse to vectors, but whenever I mention ‘animation’ I get a ‘cartoon’. That’s a huge gap in perception. It comes down to alignment of values. I have to get the look I want.

Theresa Joy Lorenzetti donyou have any examples of the look you’re going for? I know a couple board artists and would be happy to connect you.

Thanks Ryan. Sure, I know what I’m going for. I have examples. My story is ready to go. Just checking around for artists so I don’t have to do it myself.

No thanks. I don’t think it’s worth the membership. I have a Fine Art background, used to teach, I can recognize the talent I want. I’ll do the extra legwork to get the look I want. Cheers!

I seem to be missing a big junk of the message :) So I will return to the top question: artstation. I hardly use it. I don't need it as I m an artist myself. But if I did need one, then I look at deviantart or my network. I know enough others who can do what I have no time for :) That's why it is important to have a good network.

Theresa Joy Lorenzetti animation is of course totally different. I was talking about stills. There are animation programs out there. I think they use it for cartoon network. A with quality, I think most look like "cartons" because of the clear line.

For my projects I looked for 3d artists. I already hadone, but he left to do something else. But first my real life movies :)

Hey Raymond. Fortunately my animation artist is happy with any kind of storyboard. I’m doing them as part of another project. The bulk of my work is live action, as a Director. But I’m comfortable juggling many projects at once. I am frankly just bored doing only one thing at a time.

Theresa, I am also a producer, so I am drawing art, I am doing the DTP, I am writing books, I am writing screenplays and I'm also a production assistant on several projects :) So I know what you mean :) I even worked on my vacation in China :) It's part of the passion I think.

Yeah? it doesn’t make sense to me how a Producer would work as a PA on somebody else’s project. Anyway, it’s not a competition, it’s just comparing notes on what works for me and what doesn’t.

Being aan artist as in doing illustrations and writing is my original job. I make money as a publisher. Being a PA for someone else is a fun hobby. Being a producer for myself or someone else is a combination of fun and work. I do what I love :) But I always need to be careful of not taking on too much things :)

Okay so Raymond - yes, Artstation looks an awesome resource for game animation.

I consider myself a talented voice actor for animation and even considered producing my own at some point. My wife range of skill level combined with my imagination and even versatile outlook make for hassle free production and recording sessions. I can make it happen and make it happen. Let me know if any animators need low to no budget actors to help create experiences for others
