If the opening scene in "Inglorious Bastards" is seventeen pages long. How many pages are there in the whole script? I am constantly being told not to go over 110 pages. I have just cut down a 180 page script to 106. I feel like I could make another movie with the stuff I've cut out.
Save the other stuff for the sequel. ;-)
In his MasterClass, Aaron Sorkin tells the story of one of his first scripts. It was 400 pages long. There was politics and a love story. His agent told him to split the two stories. One became “The American President”, the other one became “The West Wing”...nothing went wasted! :)
There's a lot of good sexy stuff that I cut out and turned it into a total (Sorry about this Martina) man fest adventure.
