Pitching for T.V. vs. Film

To get a general meeting or even a pitch, is it the same for both markets? You start with a query and go from there...unless you have connections, of course.

Erik Jacobsen dream crusher. Now what the heck am I gonna do for a hobby?

I know this is an answer to someone else's question, but my question was way more simple than that. If I would like to pitch a film, I submit a query letter. For a television show, which I have a bible, pilot, and everything else, would I submit a query letter as well? The copied response says someone will contact you because you have a great pitch deck. . . I have to assume you or someone you know sent this information to these gatekeepers, right? (I usually produce my own stuff, but I'm not sure I want to/have the resources to produce this t.v. show in the way that it deserves.)

Hey, thanks! I've been eyeballing those pitch sessions. The last couple execs haven't been a good match for this particular project. I'll email you.
