Introduce Yourself : Hi, everyone. I'm Shaun! by Shaun O'Banion

Shaun O'Banion

Hi, everyone. I'm Shaun!

As it's "Introduce Yourself Weekend" here on Stage32, I thought it might be time to re-introduce myself to the community. My name's Shaun O'Banion and I've been working in the film industry for the last 25 years (holy hell, has it been that long(?!). I started as a set P.A. on an Amblin series called SeaQuest DSV after sneaking onto the Universal lot at 18 years-old. You can read more of my bio on IMDb if you're interested. It's waiting right over here: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0639318/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm

If you just want to read the abridged version: I've been producing feature films now since 2010 and won an IFP Gotham Award for my second film entitled GIRLFRIEND. My last feature, THE AUTOMATIC HATE, which I co-produced, was released theatrically in N. America by Film Movement and starred Joseph Cross (Big Little Lies, LINCOLN), Adelaide Clemens (Rectify, GATSBY), Richard Schiff (Emmy Award winner, The West Wing), Ricky Jay (MAGNOLIA, HEIST), and Deborah Ann Woll (Daredevil, True Blood).

My partner and I have a number of projects in development - from large-scale period drama, to contemporary, to limited television series. We're not looking for new material at the moment, but we regularly take part in Stage32's Happy Writers and we're very excited for the future of this industry. In addition to that, I am personally grateful for Stage32 and the way it connects people at all levels.

One last thing: Next week you'll find a three-part Blog on the post-festival and awards circuit experience. I hope you'll all give it a read and comment! Nice to meet everyone!
