Introduce Yourself : Hi from South Africa by Ben Johnson Jr.

Hi everyone, Just grabbing this opportunity to reconnect with all of you. I haven't been as active on Stage 32 as I'd like to be, but it's been a little hectic lately. I'm a full time screenwriter and script editor from Durban, South Africa. I work as a freelancer in both the television and film industry here. I'm also a fledgling producer busy with my first short film noir, APRIL'S FOOL which I hope to shoot before year end. I'm also producing a made-for-TV feature drama called A DAY IN THE LIFE. In terms of writing, I'm currently writing on a soaping, scripting a romcom feature and co-writing a feature animation. My goals- I'm interested in finding representation overseas and would love to write for an American or British show for a season or two. I have several completed scripts and I'm looking for overseas partners who are interested in co-production and accessing the attractive rebates South Africa offers. I'm interested in co-writing and co-producing content for a variety of platforms. I'm extremely serious about my work and approach it as s business. I have a deep passion for storytelling and want to tell authentic, emotionally engaging, universally appealing stories. I work hard at my craft and business, 12-16 hours a day.
