How To Create An Elevator Pitch As An Expat Thespian

DON'T HAVE A UNIQUE SELLING POINT - The "unique selling point" doesn't work because we should be concerned with how we make people feel. Selling makes everyone uncomfortable. Instead, create the "unique engaging point." Engaging - charming & attractive. (This Good) Selling - you want something in return. (This Bad)

REVEAL WHAT YOU SOLVED - Did you gain experience as a working actor when you were overseas? When you're in that networking space your elevator pitch should convey how you learned to be a more efficient working actor. Training, researching film festivals, producing a short film, networking, etc.

PRACTICE THAT MINI-LOGUE - Those three to four sentences can make or break you at that networking event. Practice that mini-logue (Mini Monologue) because your tone, mood, and flow are all part of how you create. Acting is about making the imaginary real. Engaging is about making the real unforgettable...Expat Thespian!
