Introduce Yourself : Horror Composer by Jamie Chambers

Jamie Chambers

Horror Composer

Hi everyone! I'm glad to be here and look forward to checking out your projects.

My name is Jamie Chambers. I'm a Music Producer and Composer based in Leeds, UK. I have recently launched a music production company specialising in horror music for film & tv. As we are a new company - we are keen to work on as many projects as possible to develop our show reel and add to our credits. I look forward to connecting with you all!

Debbie Croysdale

Hi Jamie. Thanks for your info. I was up at Leeds film festival.

Jamie Chambers

Hi Debbie! Oh really? I missed it this year - what were you doing?

Debbie Croysdale

Hi was not watching my stuff, went up for their historical black and whites at Hyde Park Headingly. I just fell in love with that building and a sponsor will be asking permission to shoot under that Retro clock later on in year. I’m mainly in Spain or Norway and do continual personal tutorials in London, but Leeds in buzzing and needs an Indie group. Thanks for hookup.

Debbie Croysdale

Im travelling now and using my mobile but when I get back to base, will talk more about the short I want to do up there.

Jamie Chambers

Fantastic! I would love to hear more. Hyde Park Cinematic is truly a gem of the city. It's just received funding to be developed and to ensure preservation for years to come. Leeds is buzzing!

Allen Lynch

Welcome Jamie.

Jamie Chambers

Thanks Allen! Nice to meet you

Lisa Vandiver

Hi, Jamie, it is nice to meet you. Best wishes on your work!

Debbie Croysdale

Hi Jamie Yes Leeds is buzzing, I just hope Brexit does not interfere with 2023 European Capital of Culture. Leeds deserves it! I hope when they do up Hyde Park Cinema they don’t mess with the Retro “real “ clock, cos that’s the backdrop for a short I successfully pitched to do 2020. (Hope get permission location). Will keep you posted when it all materialises.

Jamie Chambers

Hey Debbie. We can only hope! The new Hyde Park Cinema project looks great. They're essentially adding an extension so hopefully not too destructive to the retro feel. Keep me posted. I'd love to meet you when you're next in Leeds.

Richard "RB" Botto

Great to have you here, Jamie!

Debbie Croysdale

Hi Jamie will keep you posted!

Tim Partridge

Hi Jamie, welcome to S32. I grew up in Leeds and now run a small studio in California. My mum and Dad dated at the Hyde Park cinema!

Debbie Croysdale

Hey @Tim My parents met Hyde Park cinema too. They were at Henry Moore institute in Leeds and Hertfordshire, separately, but met together at a film being shown about Henry Moore Leeds Gallery. Also moving picture was invented in Leeds by Louis le Prince. Not a lot of people know that.

Jamie Chambers

Hi Tim! Thats pretty amazing. When were you last in Leeds? Do you still have the old Yorkshire accent?

Tim Partridge

aye lad, it's tough to shake even having been here almost 20 years. I'm at the point where people on BOTH sides of the pond can't understand me! :) We are one of the few studios that still does practical effects!

Roman BRuni

lovely ! link ?

Tim Partridge

Hi Debbie, you're right Leeds played a role in moving pics since Le Prince was the first to capture moving images through a single lens. The first to capture moving images per se was another Brit Eadweard Muybridge who used multiple cameras to capture a galloping horse here in California. Le Prince went missing under unusual circumstances and Muybridge shot his wife's lover so don't let anyone tell you making movies won't drive you mad! :)

Tim Partridge

Hi Roman, my studio is www.32Ten.com, we have worked on lots of major movies but practical FX is a dying art unfortunately so we are moving into production for ourselves since we have the facility and the crews.

Jamie Chambers

Tim - I would pay good money to hear that mix of Leeds and California! I hope that practical effects always have a place in movies. You have an impressive resume!

Alexis Weir

Hi Jamie, what kind of music do you make?

Jamie Chambers

I've messaged you privately Alexis

Debbie Croysdale

@Tim Thanks for interesting info on E Muybridge. Yeah Artists tread a different path! I’m researching on the “Vanishing” of Le Prince and kinda bullied my way into archive rooms last time in Leeds. @Jamie I got around five accents, one being Leeds from Mum, then South Africa, then Liverpool, then London and onto Norway and Spain. My father had a posh accent but died in car crash before I could talk, so I woulda had a bit of Queens English aswell. LOL. I just love your Leeds micro brewery and did a film deal after a pint of “Liquid Mistress”. EY UP......

Debbie Croysdale

Sealed a short film deal with a Pint Liquid Mistress, just love your Micro Brewery. There is also a great coffee place with archives near Yorkshire TV. I have also written a pitch for documentary on disappearance "Father of Cinematography" money was subsequently made on his invention and concept, and Louis just fell off the grid. Love you Leeds, back in six months.

Brandon Wilson

The artwork alone has me interested!

Debbie Croysdale

The Artwork not only Cool but free. The Henry Moore Art Gallery has no admit fee, yet equals if not best’s main London Galleries. It was one of Henry’s stipulations the public should not have to pay.

Debbie Croysdale

Thanks for noticing @Brandon. There is an enormous wealth of Art in Leeds. A couple of my family stones here too.

Debbie Croysdale

I was born here late seventies, that’s why I so PROTECTIVE of Louis abduction. I doubt he just fell off grid.
