Anyone else planning on attending the Austin Film Festival in October? I’m planning on purchasing a pitch ticket as well. Anyone with any insight or experience pitching at AFF? Have there been writers who have had their work optioned or found representation? Or, is it more for those looking for feedback from professionals?

for 3 years, I ran the Pitch Prep at AFF and was a judge for the pitch competition. Every year I was there, at least one of the people I voted thru made the Top 3. The last year i was there, I got TWO writers signed off the pitch they gave in the finals. Yes... it can happen. Btw, my thank you from AFF was all consultants being banned. Thats why I dont go anymore. But it's still a great event.

Thanks Danny. When you say a few writers have gotten signed, do you mean that they were able to sell / option the actual project they pitched? Or, that they found representation?

I'll be there. I don't do the pitch sessions, but the roundtables were far more helpful than I imagined. Those are recommended.
