Making Money on Your Film

I am a big fan of Film Courage. In their latest video, Mark Harris lays out what has worked for him and, yes, it boils down to relationships. (Almost like Tarantino connecting with Harvey Keitel for Resevoir Dogs.)

I feel like some of the fog has been lifted. I still gotta do the work but I see more of a path...

Thoughts? Comments?

What has worked for you?

I went the other way 'round. I learned early on that story imaging was in my blood but that it was not an economically viable career path. I went the professional route, shuffled anong the corporate halls in my 3-piece suit with occasional sabaticles into the writer's world/film sets/production/directing forest. Now I'm retired; I have the money & time to write/direct/produce my own films - but in reality, it's a hobby of mine. I'm trying to create/establish an economically sound film industry in my little corner of the world - unfortunately I'm in an area where young people go to retire. Does anybody work any more?
