Screenwriting : Alternate IMDb? by Patricia White

Alternate IMDb?

I Googled Matt Kniaz, and I couldn't find a link to his IMDb credentials that are listed on his Stage 32 bio. Can you point me towards the one? Thank you.

Beth Fox Heisinger

Hi, Patricia. Matt Kniaz (I believe?) is an entertainment lawyer and is the manager at Industry Entertainment. He has heard pitches here at S32. If you are seeking more info, perhaps inquire with Stage 32 Script Services: WriterHelp@Stage32.com. :)

Also, do place a profile image. The generic placeholder may cause the site's algorithm to read your account as "incomplete." Plus members prefer to see with whom they are communicating with. Hope that helps and best to you!

Yes Beth that is why I put my picture on here.

Hi Patricia White nice to meet you! I am the Director of Script Services at Stage 32. Matt is a fantastic lit manager. The trouble with IMDb is that it does not really list managers on the public site. His credits appear on IMDb Pro including producer on “The Other F Word” which is a project by a fellow Stage 32 screenwriter Caytha Jentis, whom he represents.

Industry Entertainment is one of the leading management companies in the industry which is owned and run by a successful manager name Dan Spilo with whom I personally worked for over 2 years when I was in literary management.

I’m always happy to speak with you further about any of our executives. Please reach out to me at j.mirch@stage32.com! :)

Sorry to say I encountered the same thing with my recent pitch to another "executive." His last imdb credit was from 2012, and I couldn't find him listed anywhere on the company's website S32 said he worked for. Big red flags prior to a pitch where he only gave me 5 minutes of the 8 I paid for. No surprise he passed.

Just sayin'... felt like embellished credits.

I checked out Matt K. on IMDb Pro, and he seems to be more of a talent manager than a literary manager. I see actors under him, and he's listed as a producer/manager. But as Jason explained, it's not typical to have an IMDb account if one is a literary manager. I would research any executive before submitting pitches. If you're not comfortable or 100% ready to go, wait or pick another executive. Good luck, Brian. There's no rhyme or reason to show business - of that I'm sure.
