Introduce Yourself : Is this where I sign the standard Rich and Famous contract? by Ari Marmell

Is this where I sign the standard Rich and Famous contract?

Hey, folks. I guess we're doing introductions?

My name is Ari Marmell. I'm pretty new to the film/script side of things, but I've been a professional writer for almost twenty years. I've got seventeen novels to my name, as well as a large number of gaming credits (both tabletop RPGs and computer games). Most of my work is fantasy, but with forays into horror and sci-fi.

I decided to try moving into screenwriting as well, because I wasn't frustrated enough. I've been fiddling with several scripts, and I've got one that's been honed, critiqued by pro screenwriters, and is basically ready to go. Just, y'know, as soon as I find a producer willing to read a horror script from someone who's never sold one before. So I expect it'll be a while yet.

Glad to be here!

Hi Ari! I personally found that making a pitch deck for my film helped open some doors to get people interested. Maybe give that a try?

Ari Marmell

Huh. I'd never even heard or thought of doing something like that for a script. What would such a thing look like, exactly? (If you don't mind going into it, of course.)

Jennifer Lynn Warren

I have one attached to my screenplay on my profile you are welcome to see. If you click "view screenplay" , you will get my pitch deck. https://www.stage32.com/profile/371793/Screenplay/Unidentified-working-t...

Awesome. Thank you!

Getting people to read your work is the hardest part, especially if you can't afford to use script review services. You just have to make do with people you know IRL. They always say they'll read it, but never actually get around to it.
