Screenwriting : My first project of 2020 by Stephen Floyd

Stephen Floyd

My first project of 2020

Last night, with a little whiskey in me, I was trolling my programmer wife about Y2K not really being a thing. She insisted that’s only because programmers ‘round the world helped prevent it’s effects. I then waxed eloquent about a hacker from the future who goes back in time to prevent Y2K only to learn it doesn’t happen, but then learns he must bring it about to prevent despotism in his own time. Now that I’m sober I just outlined the first act and really like where it’s headed. It’s a lot less tongue-in-cheek than I imagined.

And as a byproduct... a whiskey ad in the making!

There's a certain point at which whiskey helps and not much beyond that.

Debbie Croysdale

The hacker from future must have read false historic news, in order to assume event DID happen in the past. A subplot could be the event was invented in past to cause panic to the masses, so some other huge catastrophe went carried out unnoticed. High powered antagonists hid a much deadlier secret under the lid of the supposed mayhem and hacker from future prevents this, yet causes the problem that never took place. Ha ha just a thought. “The Whisky that makes the world see sense.”

Sounds interesting. Keep writing, it only gets better from here on. Good luck.
