Screenwriting : Thank you! by Andy Celis

Andy Celis

Thank you!

Hello, everyone!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank eveyone who has taken the time to give me advice, feedback and answer my questions. Being a young, aspiring screenwriter/filmmaker is really hard. Specially when you have no one in your life to teach you about these things. And even more specially when English isn´t your first language, haha! Believe it or not, you all have unconsciouslly helped me improve my vocabulary as well!

Screenwriting is a really lonely profession. But being here makes feel part of a beautiful community and I could never fully express my gratitude. I think sometimes we take simple things for granted. But the simple fact that someone would take five minutes out of their day to comment on one of my questions really means the world to me. So I wanted to make this post to thank all you incredibly talented and astonishingly kind people for being part of my journey AND for making the world a better place with your wonderful ideas.

Please keep working and fighting for your dreams, I promise the world needs you to.

Happy writing!

I have one word of advice “Guillermo del Toro” a country man for you I do believe. He has inspired me and I have heard he is interested in people such as yourself. He has shown a path for non native english speakers.

You have a massive advantage over me, time. At 55 I have maybe 30 years of writing. In 30 years you’ll be middle aged.

By the questions you ask and the statements you make you understand writing. I am happy you have found a tribe here.

I don’t find writing lonely. It is just not everyone’s taste. Which does make it hard to discuss.

I look forward to see what you do in the future.

Craig, that´s very true! He´s one of my biggest inspiration and that´s a huge reason why.

Thank you for your words,! You´re too kind.

Andy Celis

Definitely will. Thank you Andrew!

Andy Celis, I agree with you that writing, in general, is a lonely business. One of the things I do is subscribe to a free newsletter (I know--everyone has a newsletter now-) called The Creative. It's the best newsletter I've subscribed to. They talk to and interview every single type of artist or a creative person you can imagine and oddly, that makes me feel less alone to see inside the minds of other creatives. I've only been here for about a month and have enjoyed networking! Best of luck in your creative pursuits!
