I'm halfway finished with "Bleeding Gums," and I hope to have it finished in the next two months.
In addition, earlier this month, I dug out a screenplay I started on in the summer of 1985, but didn't finish due to the cold feet I'd gotten about the project. It's a gangster-movie spoof called "Got Any More Bullets, Sister?" In it, two vendors in 1930 Cleveland seek to better their own lives (well, duh; it's the Great Depression!)...but while one woman decides to enter music, her sister chooses a life of crime.
To be honest, to aid believability, I borrowed a lot from "Little Caesar," the landmark 1930 film that put Edward G. Robinson on the map for good as the title character. Then I added my own touches...like setting it in an actual city, making one of the characters a would-be musician (instead of the would-be dancer Douglas Fairbanks Jr. portrayed in "Little Caesar"), and using gender switches.
Having a ball with both "Got Any More Bullets, Sister?" and "Bleeding Gums." And I still plan to launch "Golden Oldies" and "The Nutcrackers" as 2020 progresses.
Hope you're doing fine, too, Paul...all the VERY BEST to you!
I finished the first draft of a screenplay. Working through it, editing it. There's a lot of backstory with it, so I'm working on that. I also started its prequel, but I think I'm going to hold off on that for a while and focus on the two screenplays I've already got going.
I'm just finishing up my feature screenplay and waiting for some industry feedback. I'm working on a written pitch and In April I'm going to the Screenwriter's Festival in London.
Not script related, but my ninth book comes out on May 10. The Fourth Rising is the third installment in my Peter Brandt mystery thriller series (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082YH7QVD). My third and fourth audiobooks have been completed and are awaiting final production approval, and a fifth is just starting production. I'm working on my third book in my Linus Schag, NCIS, series. I'm finishing up a month-long online course for Sisters in Crime. And in March I will be a speaker at the Left Coast Crime conference.
I wrote s short film and just wrote what I guess is a pilot. I also have been writing on my web novel and have gotten some articles published on Whatculture.

What I've been doing for the past decade: write, pitch (as much as my budget will allow - it's a very expensive process) and cross my fingers.

One total rewrite that got optioned. One new screenplay that is not quite ready and three others that are being marketed with some read requests.
