I have 3 pages of my first script written. I think it will be a dang good comedy once it is all done. I know this will be as big of a learning curve as when I wrote my first novel, so I'm going to keep an open mind and not settle for anything less than "flippin hilarious." If it takes a decade then I guess I'll have to update to the current technology and keep looking for a buyer. I don't think it will take that long. I'll have a rough draft at least by summer.

The only advice I can give, is the same advice given to me (which I didn’t believe for years). When you get to the end of the script you will be a better writer. Don’t be in love with these pages, you may have to kill them later.
I thought every word was gold. I reread something not long ago and just dropped the first 11 pages. I love and appreciate them. But the Craig of today knows that they weren’t needed. No matter how much I love them.
I am a little jealous. There is a thrill in the first screenplay that you can never get again. The “holy crap - i finished” feeling.
Can’t wait to hear progress reports. I’ll give you notes when you’re done if you like. Getting people to read your work is hard until you get a network of people.

Congratulations and good luck! Like Phil said, we’re here for you and if you ever need anything just ask! The best advice I ever got was “Write like a drunk and edit sober.” Basically, just make sure you finish your first script and don’t worry about the mistakes you made the page before. Once you finish, rewrite it and edit it for way longer than you spent actually writing it.
