Notes on Writing Aids

I just received an order from Hamilton books (26.00 for all) that would be helpful to screenwriters 1. British English A to Zed, by Norman Schur 2. A Dictionary of the Space Age, by Paul Dickson 3. German Phonetics & Phonology by O'Brien & Fagan. My point is that having hard-bound copies of different dictionaries is worth the cheap $$ you pay for them. I browse through them when looking for inspiration. I stumble on a word, or phrase and use that can be a jumping off place. For example, I opened to a random page: San Marco ... Us-Italian satellite project. Conceived in 1960... they decided an ocean platform in non-territorial waters would best serve as a launching base ...etc. etc. The satellites were to be used as air-density experiments. Prof. Broglio was pleased because St. Mark is the patron on Venice where Broglio was born. Who knew? What a great time/place for a story or a back-story... right?
