Reintroducing characters after a ten year jump

I'm working on a script that starts out with the main characters in high school and then jumps ten years in the future. I'm struggling with reintroducing the characters after the time jump, in particular a minor supporting character. He's mentioned as the boyfriend of one of the antagonists at the beginning when they are all 18. Now, it's ten years later and I'm reintroducing him, as he works at the same place as two of the other main characters. Can I just write something like "looking the same as he did ten years ago, Adam, the former high school quarterback, drops into the chair next to Barrett." Would that be okay?

Yes. “The former high school quarterback” gives a stereotypical sense of the guy. An image as well as an attitude comes right to mind. ;)
