Introduce Yourself : Discovered anything new? by Brian Carlin

Discovered anything new?

Hello Everyone! I hope you're all staying safe and sane in all of this. In this very late afternoon post, I thought I'd pose a fun question. So, like every creative, I like watching and enjoying work for its own sake, as well as to learn. And just like many of you, I've got a mile long list of movies and TV shows I've been meaning to get to but haven't had much time.

So here's my question: during this time, what's something you finally got around to watching, and what did you think of it? And why did you pick that particular one to finally watch?

Here are mine. For TV, I finally got around to 'Better Call Saul.' Yes, I know, total cliche answer. I am a late arrival to the Breaking Bad universe since I didn't have cable during most of its original run. But I'm glad it is mostly on streaming now so I can catch up. And I picked it because it has that "you gotta watch this" word of mouth appeal from so many people I know that I just couldn't hold off on it anymore, and I'm happy to say that it has not disappointed. I just started season 3 and can't wait to spend more time in that world and with those characters.

And for movies, I finally watched a movie that has become a bit obscure since it's about 30 years old - King of New York. It's set in pre-Giuliani New York City, and revolves around a drug lord played by Chrisotpher Walken. It's got a dynamite list of actors early in their careers (Laurence Fishburne, Steve Buscemi, Wesley Snipes, just to name a few!) and the camera work, action sequences, and performances hold you from beginning to end.

But enough of my rambling - what are your picks?
