First an actor had the urge to continue honing his craft during this closure. Then he decided to act upon it and posted a request on Stage 32 for a screenplay to read. Then a screenwriter had a screenplay screaming to be read. Ta Da! The two connected and set up a professional Table Read.
And that’s how it’s done… we got together to do a virtual read last night with 7 actors and me the screenwriter. I’m telling you screenwriters this is the way to go. It was amazing to hear and see my story come to life. They even went to the trouble to practice accents… Jamaican, Bahamian, Costa Rican, Italian and Southern. Thanks again Ken Moretti for suggesting this.
We had our technical difficulties. One actor’s computer crashed and I had to take over the reading of the action and the remaining actors chipped in to read his parts. All in all, it was fantastic, and I’ll be doing it again with my other screenplay, The Legend of the Toymaker.
Until then, Thanks Team Piratessa!

Thanks Jean, Taylor, Jim,, Brent, Jason, Felix! It was fun to organize along side Ken, and I was pleased with the results. All you have to do is post the request for actors in both the actors lounge and here. I also sent private requests to all of the actors in my S32 network.

Heidi. That sounds great! I never did that before but I wrote a couple of screenplays and a group of her fellow actors read them and came back with some good suggestions. It all happened in person in LA. Keep up the good work and hope to see you in Arnold or Sac one of these days.!
Dan, so did you get to watch them perform your screenplay?
Thanks Nima... Good words of wisdom.
Heidi. No Judy told me about it afterwords but I wouldn't have wanted to drive that far anyway just for that.

I couldn't have done this other than Zoom because the actors are scattered across the globe and the lock down.
