Making a Podcast

Do you have tips for making a fictional multi-part podcast out of my feature script?

I took a wonderful class here at Stage 32 with Mike Disa on how to adapt a screenplay and then how to technically produce it. Hoping to advertise for actors in a few weeks if I can pull it together. Any tips and tricks are very welcome!

Host on libsyn, can get that from $5 a month.

Make sure each episode has a cliff hanger type ending to drive interest.

Audacity is a good free editor for your audio.

Output in Mono so people that are using just one ear bud can still hear it. Plus it makes the file size smaller.

Have a supporting social media channel to announce new episodes and drive interest.

Get close to your microphone. You can have the mic level lower and still get loud input. It also prevents listeners hearing room echo and sounds more professional.

Practice with a few episodes.

Have three episodes before you realise it. So people can binge it if they want.

I did a podcast for a few years. Had a false start on one recently. They are good.
