Distribution and Management are hot topics: When what we really need is mutual respect and relationships. Ideally we meet distributors and or managers and procure a relationship over time. Develop mutual respect and perhaps some day work together. Kinda like dating before marriage. So with that said. This is my goal, I don't expect a manager or agent to pick me up tomorrow, someone who I have never met nor heard of and they have never heard of me before. Nor Do I expect to show a distributor my work in progress and expect a sale in the same moment. Developing relationships and offering each other benefit is how business works. IMHExperience

YES, so true! It is somewhat of a hierarchy business and environment, and everyone gets most excited when they get to work with an indivudual on their next rung tier--I mean, don't you? They look forward to working with that rising screenwriter, popularized director, or even a notorious actor-- next up on their personal ladder. So it's up to aspirant to position themselves there on that next rung. Maybe this built notoriety only means getting your name in a publication they read off their desk, or an industry site they visit online.
