Introduce Yourself : Actor/Writer and fluent in American Sign Language by Michelle Mary Schaefer

Michelle Mary Schaefer

Actor/Writer and fluent in American Sign Language

Hi, My name is Michelle Mary Schaefer, I am an actor and writer who happens to be Deaf.  Yet, my Deafness is not my limitation to my passions.  It creates many beautiful possibilities when working with open minded and passionate folks.

I am always looking for opportunities onscreen, I am a very versatile actor who played Hamlet in Hamlet,  Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Hannah a lesbian in When We Were Young and Unafraid, and many more.

At the same time, I write scripts, as I am currently looking for investors, producers, network  who are seriously interested in "GreenLight" my complete TV Series.   Also, I wrote REAL, a tiny film web series which has been a hit leaving the audience to crave more authentic stories, voice, that impacts the audience(s).  We will be filming the rest of the episodes when it's safe to film again.

So, right now my main focus is to GreenLight my complete, rare, never done TV Series, and look for more acting opportunities onscreen and even onstage as well.

If you are intrigue about this and me, check me out at www.michellemaryschaefer.com.  If you want to continue the dialogue, then let's do it.

Have a wonderful creative weekend!

We need more films to include signing. It is so visual and can also add the the drama I believe.

Pablo Sereno-De La Viña

I agree with you Paul...

Hi Michelle. Welcome to Stage32! You're going to love it here. I checked out your website. You have so much material! Please consider putting your loglines and maybe onesheets on your profile page. I'm so curious about Life of Hannah Elizabeth Goslar, Anne Frank's Best Friend. Is it a completed script?

Michelle Mary Schaefer

Thank you Paul and Pablo for your comments on the needs of more films that includes signing. Yes, signing adds many layers of emotions, drama, comedy, etc. There are so many possibilities with ASL in films. That's why I write.

Thank you Sarah! I am exploring Stage32, as I am looking forward to many networks and supporting each other. Thank you for the suggestions about putting the loglines/onsheet on my profile page. I haven't thought that far ahead. As, you saw my website, which I have so much to offer in acting, writing, directing etc. I just "shared" my writings late 2019 to be more open about it. To allow myself to grow even more as a writer, and even have them complete including my TV Series. I have had my work/ideas stolen in the past, which I learned from it. You made me smile when you are curious about the Hannah Goslar script. Yes, it is a completed script. It was something I wrote in 2002, and never thought anything further out of it till two, now three (you) people asked me about it. I am currently re-typing it to have a PDF file because the file I had was on a floppy disk, and I only have a print copy.

Hi Array for your sweet message. OMG! I love the word "Differing Ability" That's so empowerment and makes you think in a great way-- Positive! Thank you for the heads up with Jason Mirch as would have to check that out. I look forward to the day it is Greenlight!
