Hello all...I would like to respectfully seek your advice: On September 23, 2020, I received word from Stage32, that a submission I made to an executive landed a request for a meeting etc.... followed up 2 months later, and, silence. No correspondence. I get it...really do, but is this business as usual?

no. not really. Just a shit way to do business. I'd contact Stage 32 script services.

I have...they say to "give them time." It is what it is I suppose. All the same, thank you Dan MaxXx ... you're the only one always lends a generous ear to someone like me. Take it easy.

Did you have the meeting? Or just a request, then silence? If you had the meeting and two months have gone by, I'd reach out to them directly and respectfully to see what's going on. If it's been two months since the request and they haven't set anything up, I'd say follow S32's "give them time" - but move on. If they're still interested, they will get back to you. It's generally true in this biz - no news is bad news.

Abdur Mohammed sad how "Industry folks" respond quickly when you PAY THEM. But when it's off the clock and free, they don't have time?

Hi Abdur,
Seems to be the norm, I’ve had the same experience.
I’ve be quite active pitching and generally the feedback has been really good.. very positive and informative. I can say the whole project has benefitted from doing it and the experience has been pleasing.
But I’ve had requests 5 times … followed by silence. One of them however did say he would pass it on to his boss and get back to me if he was interested, so that’s fair enough.
I know these execs are busy, but wouldn’t a quick “no thanks” be courteous?
I’ve also paid for script coverage a couple of times and found this to be really useful. Although more expensive, at least you get a well informed response you can work with.
I don’t wish to come across as being negative, but the feedback from my pitches have also been very contradictory between different execs, with advice from one being totally the opposite of another. This just leaves me confused.
I’ve given up on pitching for now, there doesn’t seem to be much point, but I’d recommend getting script coverage if you can.. after all, if you have a script that’s spot on, you have the basis for a good pitch in place.
Thank you Dan MaxXx Claude Gagne John Ellis Willem Lodewijk Elzenga and Graham White .... I am appreciative for your comments. To answer one of the questions, I did not have a meeting, just a meeting request - it's been 5 months now. Graham mentioned conflicting, and head-spinning feedback...this too I've recently come to realize is just the nature of things. I can pull 4 Stage32 execs' feedback...and they go from "Love it," to [I'm paraphrasing the PRINTED word]..."I really don't like you, so go F yourself.] I'm not exaggerating. I thrive on negative feedback - 13 years active duty military has taught me how to grow from it and become better.
Like Graham I'm sticking to feedback, albeit very hesitant to take it from just one source. I recently received feedback from another source, after the "Go F yourself" page, and can feel the interest and love. Weird...but you all know what I'm talking about.
Best to you all....may 2021 bring you fortune and prosperity...

Hey, Abdur Mohammed! Sorry to hear you haven't heard back! I wish I could speak to what happened specifically, but if you want to follow up, it couldn't hurt. Since it is not about an order (which would be Nick at writerhelp@stage32.com), I would suggest emailing Jason to see if he can shed some light on what happened (or what is happening): J.Mirch@stage32.com
