Introduce Yourself : Screenwriter/Filmmaker by E. Amato

E. Amato

Screenwriter/Filmmaker

Hey!

Longtime lurker/first-time poster! I'm a screenwriter, script editor/consultant, script supervisor and filmmaker.

Currently doing a rewrite on my pilot script Majority Rules and working on the pitch deck which is very beta and is here: https://majorityrules.online

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, E. Amato. I don't know why I chuckled when I read "lurker." How are you doing?

Angela Cristantello

SAME. Great to meet you, E :)

Cherelynn Baker

Love to lurk. Welcome to Stage 32!

Maurice Vaughan

"Majority Rules" sounds interesting. I like how you designed the pitch deck.

E. Amato

Maurice Vaughan thanks so much for looking at the pitch deck! Yeah - flexing my (pretty limited) Wordpress skills on that! :)

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, E. Amato. I use Canva.com to make my pitch deck. I might have to try Wordpress pitch deck/blog. One issue I saw with your pitch deck: sometimes it's hard to read the white text on the backgrounds.

Christian Nommay

Great to meet you, E. Amato! Your project sounds great, and I second Maurice about how you designed your pitch deck.

Daniel Stuelpnagel

E. Amato your concept and inherent twists are so spot-on it almost sounds like a documentary, which is tragic commentary on late-stage capitalism and punches up the elements of the current employment crisis, demographic imbalances and perceived greed of a cohort who've suddenly extended their life spans,

captures so much of the strongly-magnified generation gaps we are seeing post-quarantine, a generation in retirement saying "we just can't hire good help these days" and exhausted working-age people saying "HEY! Real wages have been stagnant for the past FORTY YEARS !!"

Entrepreneurs are going to have to double or triple salaries to bring workers back from the gig economy, which though not more profitable at least gives people control of their time, their work lives and some measure of their sanity.

Love your pitch deck and the concept / logline, timely and resonates so strongly right now. Really perceptive, nuanced and a well-crafted character web!

E. Amato

Maurice Vaughan I love Canva! I use it for posters and posts. And thanks - I was a bit worried about the white text. I will take another look at it.

E. Amato

@Christian Thanks for taking a look! I modeled it on some other decks I saw. Most of them inages are stock, and a couple are mine of street art.

E. Amato

@Daniel - thank you so much! I can assure that it all wasn't so much like a documentary when I came up with the concept and wrote the pilot! Now every day I see something in the news that feels like it's right out of the script!
