Hey Guys, I have a pitch session this week and I'm trying to memorize what I wrote down, the last thing I want to do is be looking down at my paper during my session.
Hi Inetha. I've done a few pitches. If you can't remember your pitch, its too long. You're obviously hitting too many details that will slow down your rhythm. Keep it light and fast. Remember, the person you're pitching to had heard it all. You don't want to bore them and they don't want to be bored. A quick word about the setting, a few key points about the main character(s), and very high overview of your story. Leave room for them to ask for the details they think they need. Good Luck.
One trick I have learned being on screen and stage and trying to memorize lines. Work on a paragraph at a time. Read the paragraph word by word out loud and follow with your finger ten times. Don't think about actions or others sections just the paragraph with your finger. 10 times. Then try to recite it. If you fail, repeat the process of eye-word out loud-finger then try again. Once you have a paragraph or paragraphs memorized spout out the lines when your doing your daily tasks. This will re-enforce the lines memorized when your not expected to remember them. Everyone remembers differently but I hope this works for you.
Hey I-Netha, write your pitch down as well. Know the finer point of your pitch, but having a written pitch is a good thing. It shows something about you taking the time in presenting it. God Bless, Good luck...James L3

You can always post notes behind the camera, like a low-budget teleprompter. Just a few important points you do not want to forget.
