I also have a slate of screen stories with loglines, flyers and posters for sales agents which I'll start rolling out to gather feedback and interest. In the meantime, 1 of the features has got a bit of momentum.
In Australia May 2022, a pioneering road test pitch session connected cinema exhibitors with writers & producers. It was part of the Aust Feature Film Summit and in a cinema, 8 Australian and 2 New Zealand teams pitched their ideas for feedback from exhibitors who know what sells tickets at the box office.
I was 1 of the 8 with a rated M crime comedy God's Gift - now I'm immersed in dox to generate development funding.
The AFFS Road Test Pitch was held on the same day as eye-opening audience data sessions with SARA and Movio (2 data capturing / evaluating orgs) and revealed how varied, diverse and specific the science and study of audience is now. It revealed how over-simplistic traditional audience categorization is - saying 'female skew 16-40' doesn't cut it anymore.
While I prefer to spend time writing creatively and getting lost in other worlds with eccentric characters, the marketing art and science of audience is fascinating and vital to contemporary storytelling that resonates.
