Crowdfunder Yes or No?

Matthew Cornwell

I did a fundraising campaign through Indiegogo almost 10 years ago. It was a 30-day campaign, and it was a FULL TIME job just to make our goal. The statistics say that you need to reach (I think) 30% of your goal within the first day or 2 in order to have a statistical chance of making it. I had to stay engaged with my fans all month long, and had to modify and add new incentives to get donations during the middle of my timeline.

You also need some more content to excite people. Graphics, comps to existing projects, but ABOVE ALL, I need to meet YOU. Your future fans won't invest in a log line. They will invest in YOU. But you need to be in that pitch video. Right now it's just a video of text, and I fear no one will watch the whole thing. Most successful pitch videos on crowdfunding sites are under 90sec, and are high energy, with quick interviews from the team involved. I want you to excite me about your project, and if your passion is strong enough, you'll get a lot more people to jump on board.

Hope that helps!
